Inverness Village was recently recognized by the Oklahoma Certified Healthy Business Program as an organization that is promoting positive health and wellness activities for its employees and contributing to the improving health of all Oklahomans. Eventually, it is hoped that the program will encourage health insurers to consider rate changes for designated companies
The program, which began in 2003, recognizes businesses working to improve Oklahoma’s health status by providing health and wellness opportunities for their employees. Certification requirements vary by size and wellness initiatives that are in place. Eligible companies include profit, non-profit, and educational. Criteria for certification is based on dsease pevention, health education, physical activities, tobacco-use, nutrition, safety, community involvement, wellness policies, and any additional programs that support employee health.
